This Privacy Notice explains how we use the Personal Information that we hold on Canadian Applicants, and the rights you may have in relation to that Personal Information.

Just as Edward Jones strives to protect the privacy of our clients, we recognize the need to protect personal information about applicants who apply to work with us. This document explains the categories of personal information we collect about you, why we collect that information, and with whom that information may be shared when you create a profile or apply for a job through the Careers section of our website located at www.edwardjones.ca or otherwise provide us with job-related information. WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT AND USE?

When you create a profile or apply for a job at Edward Jones, we collect personal information including, for example, your name, contact information (such as mailing address, phone number, or email address), location/time zone, education, experience and employment history, skills and interests, availability, p/j number and grade level if internal, and any other information you voluntarily provide to us in your application, resume, cover letter, interviews, assessments, or similar documents. We also collect your responses to a job applicant questionnaire. We use all of this information to evaluate your qualifications and suitability for the desired position, process your application, and contact you for further information. We may also keep this information on file to consider you for future job opportunities or to otherwise meet legal or business requirements. Depending on the position you are applying for, we may also collect additional information about you to meet certain compliance and regulatory requirements.

As part of the job application process, we may also collect personal information during background verifications, including, but not limited to, a criminal background check, a job reference check, and verification of any information you have provided.

In order to access certain job seeker tools and submit an application through the job portal, you will be required to create an account and provide a username and a password that you choose, as well as your responses to security questions. Alternatively, you may log in using a third-party single sign-on provider (e.g.., LinkedIn). When applicants log in using single sign-on providers, we may collect certain personal information associated with their account on the third party's site (e.g., name, username, email address). We use this information to provide and otherwise administer your online account. We strongly recommend that you do not disclose your password to anyone. Edward Jones will never ask you for your username or password in any unsolicited communication.

If you sign up to receive job alerts by email, we will send you notifications of new jobs at Edward Jones that meet your interests and experience. You can stop receiving job alerts by email at any time by following the “unsubscribe” instructions included in each email and text message, as applicable.

WHO HAS ACCESS TO YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION AND WHERE IS IT PROCESSED?

Edward Jones human resources administrators, supervisors, and other personnel are authorized to access your personal information only as necessary to perform their respective functions. Edward Jones discloses relevant personal information to service providers who perform various services such as hosting our job application portal, administering job applicant questionnaires, assessing job applicants, and conducting verification, reference checks and background checks. These vendors and contractors are contractually obligated to protect your personal information. Most Edward Jones human resources and data processing functions are centralized in the United States. As a result, your personal information may be transferred to that country or other countries in order to accomplish the purposes described in the section, "What Personal Information Do We Collect and Use?" In appropriate circumstances, we may disclose your personal information to United States, Canadian (including outside of Quebec) or other foreign regulatory authorities, courts, law enforcement agencies or self-regulatory organizations, as permitted by law. Remember that you can help keep personal information secure by keeping your passwords secret and secure and complying with the Edward Jones security policies.
